Montgomery Evans was born in 1901 and formed friendships with many of the literary figures of the time. He was friends with Hunter Stagg, an editor of the Southern literary magazine The Reviewer, and it was through him that he was able to network and associate with some of the well-known literary figures of the 1920's.
